I Lost in the Laundry Room

Well ladies. I’m sad to say that Jason won (for now) and the extra refrigerator which was in our garage is now in my laundry room. We got a new car which doesn’t fit with the refrigerator in front of it. BUMMER! I had big plans for that space – namely the Samantha Entryway Collection from Pottery Barn (picture below). Isn’t it beautiful? I haven’t done any decorating in there yet, but it’s going to have a beach theme.

The laundry room is also the “Time Out” spot in our house. So instead of loosing my temper and yelling, “Go to time out!” I’m going to keep my cool and say, “I think you need some quite time at the beach.” What do you think!?!

Anyway since I don’t give up that easily and still plan on having my “mud room” eventually, I didn’t want to spend too much on a cabinet to store shoes, winter gloves, etc. So I found this cute little rack at Wal-mart for $8.97. I bought 2 of them as well as these cute navy canvas bins that cost $1.50 each. Yeah!

Summer Hair

I’ve decided this is going to be my summer hair this year. It’s so easy and I want it pulled back. I LOVE to talk hair – so if you have a cute “summer do” let me know!

TIP: I made the flower by hot gluing the barrett in between pink felt and the flower. You can use a flower instead of a bow on your little girls pony tails or instead of a bow on a gift to your girlfriend. If you use it with a gift, add this ‘Friends are like Flowers’ poem.

4th of July porch decor

For Mother’s Day, Jason promised me a day of shopping with Julie and Cheryl. We decided to go to Canton and we had so much fun. After a big shopping day with friends – aren’t you curious as to what all the loot looks like in their home? I am! So, here’s your chance to see it for yourselves.

Iron towel rack (I need to get another towel to roll up) and iron soap holder.

Tin for hall way

I LOVE putting iron, cute boards with sayings, etc above the doors in my house. This is the door to my bedroom.

Iron for my bathroom door

New jewelry and cute necklace holder

I know this is a little weird, but I fell in love with it! (I broke the other one.)

I hope you enjoyed the tour and got some fun ideas for your own home!

SeaDoo Friday

Here we are hanging with the Eakins at the lake.

Once everyone had a turn, Jason and Mike flexed their muscles a bit. They only threw themselves off 3 times, lost a pair sunglasses, and possibly broke a toe. Needless to say, they had a BLAST!

Father’s Day is June 17th

I’m in serious need of some Father’s Day ideas!! If you have any, please let me know. As a swap here are my ideas.

1. Print off this Father’s Day Coupon Book and let your kiddo fill it in. It’s simple and something they can do on their own. Print it out here.

2. Also, you can print off this cute tie, color it, cut it out, and tie it onto Dad’s favorite soda. “Pop, Pop, Fizz, Fizz, Oh what a great Dad you is! Print it out here.

3. Here’s a Father’s Day Card with a beautiful poem about Daddy’s Footprints.

Daddy’s Footsteps

“Walk a little slower, Daddy”,
Said a little child so small.
I’m following in your footsteps,
And I don’t want to fall.

Sometimes your steps are very fast,
Sometimes they’re hard to see;
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
For you are leading me.

Someday when I’m all grown up,
You’re what I want to be;
Then I will have a little child
Who’ll want to follow me.

And I would want to lead just right,
And know that I was true;
So, walk a little slower, Daddy,
For I must follow you.”

Print it out here.

Graduation Celebration

For the boys “graduation” present this year I took them to the Build-a-Bear Workshop. They are still really into stuffed animals so it was a perfect present for them! Fungus (Dylan’s dog) and Nay Nay (Davis’ horse) are the two lastest additions to the family. I think this has been the best end of year gift I’ve given them to date.

Flawed Yet Happy Family

I finished my 2003 Shutterfly photobook today and there was this picture. Davis was 5 and Dylan was 3 years old at the time. When I took it we were on a beautiful old fashioned boat at Moody Gardens in Galveston, Texas.

We were in such a fun place and the boys were being stinkers! Seeing it again reminded me of what Katri posted on her blog the other day about her “flawed yet happy family”. For some reason that really spoke to me and I’ve been thinking about it ever since. I think this picture represents my “flawed yet happy family”. 😉

I’m a Blaker Girl

So, I’m still laughing about “Sangina” and wouldn’t you know Blake was on Regis and Kelly this morning (which I never watch). So I’m all excited and of course… a severe weather warning interrupted the show and I missed his perfomance. Did any of you see it? What did you think?
