Epidural Cortisone Shot

Just a quick update on my back. I met with the surgeon on Tuesday he confirmed that I have a ruptured disc. He wanted me to try a Cortisone Epidural Injection before I rush into surgery. So I did.

I couldn’t eat anything after midnight Tuesday night (except pain meds) and went in to have the epidural Wednesday afternoon. It’s supposed to take 24 hours to take effect, but I’m still not feeling any better. I’ll call the surgeon in the morning to schedule the surgery. I can’t live with this pain any longer.

Thanks to Lisa, I just finished watching the first season of Jericho. It’s a lot like 24. However, watching 24 hours of the end of the world while in the most terrible pain of my life; has done little to keep my spirits up. {{wink}} But the action and “what if” sequences in my head has certainly done it’s job distracting me from time to time.

Naturally, I’ve got to check out Season 2 and can’t wait to see what happens.

In the meantime, I’m finishing the 3rd season of the O.C. with my hot pad, drugs, and Diet Coke…

  1. STINK! STINK! STINK!

I am so sorry. Hope the surgery can be scheduled soon and you can get this behind you.

And one more oh, STINK, for good measure!

  2. I did the same thing and that didn’t work for me either.
I hope you can have the surgery soon and will be feeling better in no time!

  3. I tried the shots for a disc in my lower back and it was just a temporary fix. They wanted me to get them every 3 months and it really only helped for a week or so. Good luck with the surgery. By the way, I love your blogs!

  4. Girl, I have totally been thinking about you and have wanted to call instead of leave comments. But since that hasn’t happened, I thought I better let you know that I am feeling for you and hope you get our of your misery soon. Love ya Lots!

  5. I’m so sorry! That just stinks!

It’s only fun to get epidurals when you want them, and not when you need them!

I hope your surgery goes well!

  6. Sounds awful…or maybe really great – can’t quite decide.

That SU-UCKS that it’s not working. I was really rooting for you. Keep us posted.
