Hair Raising

I love before and after pics. I think they’re one of my favorite things about blogging – an instant remodel. I finally got around to cutting my boys hair. Boy, did they need it.

Family Time

I finally finished the backyard project Lisa and I started.

Before

After

I left early (for me) Saturday morning and got 3 car loads of St. Augustine grass to replace the crushed granite. Over the next few years, my hope is that the St. Augustine will take over my backyard and I’ll finally have lush green grass to enjoy.

Here are the boys “helping” me in our family project. I do have to give Davis some credit, he did carry 4 squares of grass to the backyard. Thanks son.

I’m so excited! I’ve been wanting St. Augustine every summer since we moved in. I can’t wait for it to start growing.

Drake has finally decided it’s ok to talk. He probably has a 20 word vocab that I’m working on daily to expand. However, he still refuses to say “Davis”.

Here we’re talking about colors. I had to bring in boats and cars in order for him to pay any attention. Can you say, “stubborn”. I have no idea where he got that from. {{giggle}}

Jason received the fish he caught in Alaska and shipped home to us. He went all out and made us Alaska Salmon Bake with Pecan Crunch, grilled corn that he chucked, and green beans. It was AMAZING!

I was so proud of him. He’s such an excellent cook. Great job, baby!

Even the boys were thumbs up! They ate all of it. Good thing – we’ve got a freezer full.

You can imagine their disappointment when they received mini-corn dogs for dinner the next night when Mom cooked. {{HA! That’s reality babies}}

My Wish

This is My Wish for my boys:

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,

your dreams stay big, your worries stay small,

You never need to carry more than you can hold,

and while you’re out there getting where you’re getting to,

I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too!

Love you more than the universe! No matter what.

Small World

I think I’ve mentioned the fact that Drake loves men. Anyone that’s of the male gender – Drake attaches himself to and will comfortably go sit on their lap, follow them around, and admire from afar. If you’re a girl – you’ll get no love from my little guy. (Unless your a tomboy like Lisa, then you’re in.)

So, we were at the pool a couple nights ago and it happened again. Drake found a surrogate daddy. I spent quite a while talking to Keri and David (a.k.a. surrogate) while kindly apologizing for my son’s sudden attachment to David. At one point David got up to get something and Drake wigged out. He didn’t want David to leave! {{geeze}}

Anyway, we ended up having a great time because Keri and David were so engaging and tolerant of our stalking nature. Well, it turns out that Keri is a blogger! Not any blogger but a “tip junkie” as well. She left me the kindest comment saying she googled my name and realized who I was. What a small world!

So I thought I’d be a polite blogger and introduce her to all of you. I hope you’ll welcome her with a kind comment like, “So sorry you were stalked by Drake. Poor guys.” {{giggle}}

A while ago, I mentioned that several members of Jason’s extended family blogged as well. Honestly, it made the reunion so fun and broke the ice immediately. Here is Tera and Amber. I’m really looking forward to keeping up with them via blogger.

I’m still trying to find Danielle’s blog – so girl stop lurking and leave a comment so I can find it. 😉

Wacked Out

“My water mom!” – There are so many things wrong with this picture I don’t know where to start.

“Sorry!”

Dylan gets his ADHD medication patch put on every morning, and this morning Drake wanted one too. I put a little sticker there instead. {{cutie!}}

Wild hair to match his personality.

Date Night

Saturday, we literally spent the entire day at the lake. In the morning Jason got up early and went wake boarding with the guys. The kids and I met up with them and their families at a more reasonable hour.

The kids had so much fun. I was too busy chasing around Drake to take any pictures – shame on me. Anyway, that evening we got a babysitter and it was “night games” for the adults.

Jet Skiing…

Tubing…

… and lots of laughs on the boat.

We enjoyed yummy snacks and even had some non-alcoholic bubbly. You can barely see the moon in the background of this picture (above). The flash was so bright we could barely keep our eyes open.

Around midnight on our way back to the dock, we found a boat that had run out of gas. They had little kids with them. {{scary}} Luckily, we were able to tow them to the shore.

This was my first experience out on the lake at night and it was so much fun and exhilarating. The company was amazing and I loved reconnecting with these amazing friends.
