Family Dinner Out

Now that the boys are older, eating out is a completely different experience. {{It’s actually enjoyable – HA!}}

Although the boys still find things to keep them entertained.

This time it was the quarters we gave them for the little candy machines.  They had to eat their food before they could get a treat.  Little did we know they would be used for more menacing forms of entertainment in the meantime.

Yep, life is always entertaining with this crowd.  Thank goodness they’re so cute!

Memorial Day on the Lake

I think this is the first year {{ever}} I can truly say that I’m looking forward to summer. I’m going to really enjoy not getting up at 5:30am, I’m going to enjoy being at the pool with friends, and I’m going to enjoy time with my family.

It’s taken us longer than most, but we’ve finally found our rhythm and what works for us. We are surrounded by amazing friends who put up with our quirky nature which makes all the difference in the world.

We’re just a bunch of nuts.

We’re embracing it and enjoying every minute of it.

We love being at the lake but Davis likes builing sand cities even more! {{wink}}

I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day with your family. Huge hugs to all who have served our country! I can’t thank you enough for your sacrifice and service. I feel honored to live in a country that has so many freedoms and opportunities.

Memorial Day Weekend on the Lake

Saturday was the first day this year that we took out the Sea Doos. Jason’s finally done traveling. {{fingers crossed}}
We met up with several other families for a wet and wild ride.

Dylan was entertained the entire day by Rhett. I just love these two little cuties. Rhett most cerainly brings out the best in my little guy.

As much fun as had, I was completley traumatized by the people watching around us. There were two 18 month old babies in the water without floaties, with out supervision, and without swim diapers. {{sigh}}

At one point, a little girl was holding one of the 18 month olds and she was dunking her in the water without realizing it. Suddenly you can tell she can’t breath and vomits all over the place. The little girl realizes something went wrong and lets her go. The 18 month year old toddles off like nothing happend. {{gasp}}

At this point I’m making my way to the shore and bribbing Drake and Rhett to get out of the water as it’s “cookie time!” The last thing I wanted was those two cuties drinking it. {{grodie!}}

There were several instances like that. I could not get over the irresponsible parenting that I was witnessing. Don’t get me wrong, I had a great time. I just couldn’t help but be so grateful that my boys came to my home. With their personalities and special needs, I can’t imagine what they would have turned out like if they didn’t have a mama bear noticing their differences and trying to get them proper help.

Davis learned how to wake board and Dylan had a blast riding on the tubes.

Lisa came with us and we always have the best time together. Unfortunately, this isn’t her baby she’s holding. {{they’re still working at it}} She’s a natural and will be the best mother when her time comes.

Here we are reinacting the wild ride we just had. Lisa got aggressive and was fishtailing to soak me. {{which worked several times – I was dripping wet}} All of a sudden she took a turn too fast and FLEW off the sea doo. It was hysterical.

I learned quickly that it’s “fight or flight” when on a jet ski with my sister. I couldn’t fishtail as good as she can, but dude I can book it! I finally made it to the “no wake zone” and was safe from her amuzement. {{wink}}

How to Play in the Bayou

Scott and I took the boys out for a walk and when he discovered the small creek in the green belt – he lit up!

You see, we had a bayou in the back of our house and Scott spent his youth in there catching turtles, crawdads, and all kinds of smelly creatures.

The fact that my boys did not play in our green belt was such a travesty to him that he decided to take matters into his own hands and teach my boys how to catch smelly creatures.

He accepted the challenge and we decided to make it a family affair. The boys had a blast trying to jimmy-rig nets and attempt to outsmart the fish.

Davis’ Arrow of Light

Davis earned his Arrow of Light award quite a while ago. But he didn’t have a ceremony due to the fact that he never had a Scout Master. Yep, that means that which Jason out of town, Davis and I did all the work together.

It was exhausting but worth it.

One of our good friends just got called to be the Scout Master and he made this special bridge just for Davis’ ceremony. He wanted to do something special to make it up to Davis for waiting so long to give him his award. It was AMAZING! Davis really felt special and loved walking over the bridge.

Always the cheeze, this is Davis pretending the gummy worm is a real one while eating the dessert.

Happy Birthday to My Man

Jason has been traveling three out of four weeks every month. It’s exhausting for every one. It’s his big day and the boys and I have wrapped some fabulous gifts and have a night out all planned.
It’s a toss up who misses Daddy the most; me or Drake. When Jason first gets home Drake is at his side for quite a while so he can get his daddy fix.

My man is all hooked up with some summer clothes as he’s lost quite a bit of weight lately. He’s lookin’ goo-od!

His mom got him an incredible watch which doubles as his birthday and graduation gift as he just received his MBA.

Happy Birthday Jason!
I love you more than the Universe!!!

Easter Party

For Easter this year, we hosted a dinner and egg hunt Saturday afternoon with friends.

I absolutely love having people in my home. It makes every holiday so much more enjoyable when I have people to share it with.

We had the egg hunt at our neighborhood park across the street.

It was the perfect spot for the littlies and the biggies to find eggs.

I can’t believe how fast they’re growing up!

Easter morning the Easter bunny left them some treats in their baskets. She did a great job not going over board this year.

The boys made these clay bunnies the night before.

Happy Easter everyone!

Spring Break at Sea World

This year for Spring Break we packed up the kiddos and went to San Antonio and Sea World

Now that the boys are older it was a blast!

We met up with several other families (who we just adore) and everyone had a friend to hang out with. Yep, even Mom & Dad which is key.

We had fun taking a boat tour and eating on the river walk.

Seeing all the shows and attractions.

It was seriously SO cold, but being with good friends made it really fun. Davis & Dylan road the roller coasters while Drake and I hung out with Wendy & Emily at the penguins.

Gotta have cotton candy!

On our second day the boys needed a change of pace, so wen played in the sand at the playground. Davis takes his sand castles very seriously.

We fed the sea lions.

Watched the sting rays being fed.

And got up extra early in the morning to fed the dolphins.

The kids loved the little Shamu ride and since we had to get their early to feed the dolphins, there wasn’t a line once the park opened up. I think they rode it 5-6 times each!

It’s so much more enjoyable to travel now that the kids are older. Saturday evening we all went to dinner and then had the families over to our Hotel Suite to watch a movie and the BYU football game. We had pie, junk food, and played Ticket to Ride.

Everyone had a good time and Jason and I can’t wait to go back.

It was a crazy good time.

Superhero Academy Birthday

Drakes birthday party was so much fun. Not only to plan and put together but also to execute. Since the kiddos are getting older, there was zero drama and everyone was all smiles. Yep, even the birthday boy. {{which is sayin’ something}}

I took the opportunity to play around with my creative talents and really have fun with this party. My other 2 boys birthdays are in the fall – the busiest time of year – so I really wanted to enjoy this one and went all out.

You can see all the details as well as free files over on the Batman Birthday Party – Superhero Academy on Executive Homemaker.

Yeah!! Drakie is four years old and officially a superhero, the batman variety. He hasn’t taken off his cape since we bought it for him last week. I honestly didn’t think anything would replace Lightening McQueen.

Where The Heck Am I ?!?

This post is a little late – but a couple weeks ago this is what my front yard looked like! Nope, we didn’t move to Utah; it was brought to us one morning.

I had completely forgotten how beautiful snow it. Usually when it snows here in Texas it’s icy not powder like this. I believe we got 10″ of snow that day. (Don’t quote me.)

The kids were in heaven!

So was Lisa! She came over and we built this OTT fort with the boys and some neighborhood kids.

Of course, just one fort isn’t good enough. So once we finished the first one, they quickly started the second one.

Can you tell they had a good time?

Lisa sure did! She was determined to have the biggest snowman on the block.

Of course, half way through we decided that we shouldn’t make a snowman, but a Snow Angel!

So I grabbed the accessories and we went to town making our Angel as beautiful as possible. {{squeal in delight}}

Earlier that day Drake had his Valentine’s Day party.

It was my day to carpool, so I made the kids pose in the snow. {{bwaahaa}} They weren’t diggin’ it as much as I was. {{evil laugh}}

In other news, I’m still couponing, play dating, and having a weekly lunch out. Life is busy and one day soon I hope to really take some time and put all my thoughts down on my blog.
