My Blog’s Reading Level

I can’t resist these fun blog things! Since I don’t have a college degree – this made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

My Enrichment Social (church meeting) and ornament exchange went well last night. Lisa and I had made 60 ornaments to give to each lady as a small Christmas gift from the board. I’m just now realizing that I didn’t keep one for myself. Oops. Oh well, they weren’t that great anyway.

I’m NOT fishing for compliments – I was a little disappointed in how they turned out. But when you’re making 60 of them you just have to, “Make it Work”. I did a version of this one my friend Melissa in Katy, Texas made years ago. Here’s the poem:

High above the weary world,
For eyes to see that will,
The star of Bethlehem will shine
For those who seek Him still.

My Dad and his wife are coming tonight. Yeah! I love my dad and we are finally getting back to where our relationship was before the divorce. It’s a good feeling. Check out Tip Junkie for other things I’ve been up to.

Blogger Lunch

Top: Martha, Laurie W, Heather, Me. Bottom: Leslee, Annmarie, and Lisa came to the lunch. My friend Melissa, who I was visiting, took the picture.

What can I say about the blogger lunch? We had a BLAST!!! These ladies are amazing! I would hang out with any of these ladies in real life, any time. They’re fun, gorgeous, engaging, and most importantly real. I obviously felt like I already knew them, but I was even more excited when our connection in real life was instant and comfortable.

We didn’t have any problems filling the conversation. We laughed, talked seriously, got to know each other better, were LOUD, and 2 hours later when the lunch was over – I realized I hadn’t even asked any of the questions I had planned.

At one point in the conversation someone asked me if I regretted posting about Heather being my Blog Crush? I knew immediately the answer was No. I never even imagined that I would have had the opportunity to meet her, and because I took a risk by putting myself out there – look what happened! {giggle}

Can I tell you that Heather’s just like she is on her blog. She’s outgoing, funny, warm, confident, and fabulous! My only regret is that I didn’t have a couple more hours to spend with these ladies. I didn’t get one-on-one time with each of them like I would have liked. {bummer}

Thank you ladies for taking the time away from your families on a Saturday to meet. I felt honored to have met you and loved every minute of our lunch. You far exceeded my expectations!

If you ever have the opportunity to meet any of your blogger friends – DO IT! I’m so glad I did. You know I couldn’t let everyone leave with out a party favor. So I made everyone a beaded bookmark in my current favorite color – turquoise.

Tip: Keep these in mind this Holiday season as a small gift idea or to add a personal touch to a book you’re giving.

What Color Are You?

Here’s yet another variation on the “What Color Are You” quiz; this one is easy and quick. Thanks Jessica for the quiz.

“You are darkviolet – #9400D3

Your dominant hues are blue and magenta. You’re the one who goes to all the parties but doesn’t quite fit in at every one… you know what you want, but are afraid of what the world might think of it. You’re a little different and that’s okay with them, and if you’re smart it’s okay with you too.

Your saturation level is very high – you are all about getting things done. The world may think you work too hard but you have a lot to show for it, and it keeps you going. You shouldn’t be afraid to lead people, because if you’re doing it, it’ll be done right.

Your outlook on life is brighter than most people’s. You like the idea of influencing things for the better and find hope in situations where others might give up. You’re not exactly a bouncy sunshine but things in your world generally look up.”

It’s uncanny how these quiz’s know exactly how I’m feeling. I do feel very different from my friends because I have very different interests. Which is why I’ve love blogging. I have really enjoyed finding so many woman who share my same passions. You rock ladies!

Are you and your friends a lot a like or different?

What Color Orange are You?

You Are Cameo

You are understanding and very empathetic.
You don’t tend to have acquaintances. Everyone is your friend.
And all of your friends tend to be friends. You have a knack for bringing very different people together.

Make sure you comment and tell me what Color Orange you are. This will help us all bond in flavors of orange.

Totally kidding – I’m making fun of my “You have a knack for bringing very different people together.” 😉

Witch Switch

Pottery Barn Version, My Version

I can finally show you what I’ve been working on for 3 weeks! I saw this in the Pottery Barn Kids Catalogue and I had to have it! 2 other friends of mine wanted to do it as well, so this was a group effort that made it more fun, much easier, and cheaper! We made 6 of them, two for each of us. I’m very pleased at how they turned out. (I need photography lessons, this picture just doesn’t do it justice.)

I gave my second one to my Witch Switch Sister, Jamie, who just received it and to my relief she really liked it. I was a bit nervous about it since it’s more for the kiddos.

I received my Witch Switch gift from Kara. She even decorated the box to coordinate with the gift. Seriously Ladies, we were meant to meet!

Kara made me personalized Halloween Cards, this cute wire box all decked out in Halloween ribbons filled with candy, her homemade caramel popcorn, and this too cute Halloween bag! (notice the flower) Kara I LOVE it!! You completely spoiled me! You are so talented and fun!

I’m so delighted that I’ve made two completely new fabulous blogging buddies. Thanks so much Sue for organizing this, it had to be an invloved process. You Rock!

Mail!

I’ve been crazy busy throwing my last birthday party and finishing up my Witch Switch craft. It’s late and I’m so exhausted I’m going to try to take a nap tomorrow.

This post is way overdue! I want to thank Mique for sending me the backpack tags that I won in her giveaway. My boys LOVED them and it made them feel so special. Also thank you for …

this awesome BOO banner that she made me for my birthday. I love it!! It fits perfectly on my mantle. Thank You!! My boys really like it too.

I also received a “Pay it Forward’ gift from Wendi. I’ve just got to say that Wendi and I could definitely hang in ‘real life’. I’ve been rockin‘ out to the CD she made me for days! Thank you so much Wendi. My boys have almost got the CD memorized. 😉
