Lisa and I were making dinner and playing around in the kitchen, when I busted out my moves. Yes it’s true, I’m a girl with mad skills on the dance floor. Here’s me bustin’ a grove. {{FOTFL!}}

It can get a little crazy when Lisa and I are together. 🙂 We’ll be seeing a lot more of each other as she bought a house 1 neighborhood away. Whoohooo!! They move in August 28th. {{hands in the air}}

These Dadgum Entitled Teens

Wendy and I are at our neighborhood pool with all our kids, minding our own business, when we hear the lifeguards whistle and ask that everyone get out of the pool.

This is actually a common occurrence at our community as I believe the teenage lifeguards have way to much control. They close the pool down due to weather and urban legend “fecal matter” excuses all the time. I’ve believed for some time that the lifeguards are secretly working together to get the day off.

Today they proved it! In fact they owned up to it when they all decided that they would close down the pool because they are going to STRIKE! No, I’m not kidding.

Apparently the company they work for, which our association sub-contracted to run the pool, isn’t paying them their proper wages. {{like I give a crap}}

You can imagine my reaction when an 18 year old tells me that I need to leave because he’s not being paid properly. I told him that he doesn’t have the authority to close the pool. He needs to be adult about it and take it to the proper management on his day off. {{yada yada yada}}

What made me even more enraged was the fact EVERYONE actually left with out a fight! Since when do we let 18 year olds tell us what to do.

I wasn’t going to leave! However, Wendy (as kind as she always is) understood their plight. We decided to be the adults and walk up to our clubhouse and take it to the proper authorities, HOA management.

The Hoff would be seriously disappointed in these dadgum entitled teenagers who think that they can empty a 5 pool neighborhood community at their whim.

Our neighborhood association lady in charge told them that they need to get back up in their lifeguard stands or she would have them terminated. Shoot Yeah!

You can imagine the lecture my boys got on the ride home. There are times that you may think you’re hot stuff – but everyone is accountable to someone. I’m quite sure that several of those teens will be looking for new jobs in the morning with tainted resumes to remind them of their ego issues.

Seriously.

The Hunt is On!

Lisa and Billy have finally gotten a contract on their house. We’re praying everything goes well and they close as scheduled the end of August. {{fingers crossed}}

So it’s now time to start house hunting. Lisa had fun doing Drake’s hair for the occasion.

Pet pee in the entry way and too small. It was on our top five until day 3.

Thumbs down! Too expensive and small.

You’re gonna just love this home! {{not}}

TV on the floor! Thumbs down.

Too far away from me. Thumbs way down!

The alarm in this house must have been going off for days! It’s now a loud dying cricket sound – Thumbs down!

We saw several model homes on our journey to find the proper living space for Lisa and Billy. Here are a few pics:

Living Room Curtains

How about a balcony from your game room into your living room? (Love the iron)

Football room with easy field boarder (painted) and cool game board header. The score numbers can be changed out.

Narnia room. Drake LOVED the stuffed lion.

Princess Room Curtains with finials instead of rods.

Castle bed. I had one similar to this when I was a child. However, mine was a bed on top and a play house on the bottom. This one is open inside so you can see the ceiling.

Fun stone mural above the dresser.

Fabulous media room with murals inside the niches instead of frames.

After 3 days and who knows how many homes – we’ve narrowed it down to our top 3. They’ve put in their offer on the first one and we’ll see how it all pans out.

I’m really excited for them!

Slim and Sculpt

After months of working out alone, I’ve finally gotten a work out partner! His form is fantastic for his first time! Notice he’s totally looking at the TV screen to know what to do. {{snicker}}

It’s about time that I retire my latest workout routine, 10 Minute Solutions Slim & Sculpt Pilates.

Pros:

I can queue up several 10 minute work outs or do just 1.
It’s quick.
I like using the band.
It works.

Cons: I’m bored to tears with it.

Any suggestions?

Skater Boi

Obi Wan: “News just in! My bros Davis & Dylan just got skateboards.”

Astronaut: “That is totally tubular dude. Are their skills gnarly?”

Obi Wan: “Robot is on the scene and here to report if they are sketchy or smooth…”

Look out Avril, I’ve now got 2 Skater Boi’s! Dude. Davis and Dylan are growing up right before my eyes. I think they grew an inch the morning we took then to buy their first skateboards. They’re now walking taller and will be speaking slang in no time. {{heaven help me}}

Man that is off the hook, where’d you get that shirt? Dude, Davis that kickflip was diamondz!

Man, you get mad props for that skill. Dude it’s totally killer. I noticed Davis is pumping mongo. Did he just 50-50 that double kink?

Dude.

Robin Hood = Bonding Time

I can’t tell you what a relief it is that my boys are growing up. For the first time, we have the same interest in movies. I know it’s a little weird to even say out loud.

I’ve been watching the BBC version of Robin Hood and it’s so clean my boys can even watch it!

I discovered it while Googling movies with Richard Armitage. {{giggle}} Katri had told me that her boys loved Robin Hood but mine are still into cartoons so I didn’t think they’d be interested. Well, this summer we’ve snuggled up to several live action flicks and you can imagine my surprise and delight.

Whoohoo! I’m a huge movie buff and it looks like we’ve got several seasons to catch up on and bond over. Thanks Robin we’re loving your adventures!

It’s all about Harry

Opening week (Thursday night) the girls and I went to see Harry Potter in the decked out Capri Theater. First, we had to grab our favorite Cheesecake Factory delight! Mine is the raspberry swirl cheesecake in case you were wondering.

Then we made ourselves at home as we ate, giggled, and gabbed for an hour while we waited for the movie. Man these gals are FAB!

It was such a fun night. A little embarrassing as I was the only one to jump (and possibly squealed) in a couple key parts of the movie. It was quite apparent that I was the only one who hadn’t read the book. {{snicker}}

The movie gets 2 thumbs up from me. Thanks Katrina, Caroline, and Jenni for the girls night!

I’ve Missed You Honey

(Pic from Feb.)

I found this song from Lisa’s blog as she has the best taste in music! Billy’s been living with us since February and I know they’re looking forward to her house selling so they can reunite and be together once again.

On a personal note, Jason’s been traveling a lot this summer and it looks like he’ll be home for a while and taking a traveling break. Having him home consistently, I’ve realized how much I’ve missed him!

You know how it is, you get in the groove and take on single-motherhood without looking back. But now that he’s in our life full time, I know that I couldn’t do this without him.

“I never realized not having you here would hurt so much…
I need your loving hands to come and pick me up.
Every night I miss you!”

He’s such an amazing man and totally gets me. I love you honey and (once again) I’m so glad you choose me. {{smooches}}

Model Home Hopping

Wendy and I went model home hopping on our day off this week and boy did we have a good time.

I left this house feeling a like I lived in the slums. I was flabbergasted at it’s beauty. I took a lot of pictures as Wendy was looking at media rooms and I was focusing on curtains.

Media Rooms

This media room has 3 levels – 2 couches and the top level is a bar with bar stools. To the left there is a kitchenette!

This media room had 2 levels – bar and the then couch at the bottom.

Master Bathrooms

Holy Crap! I could totally get used to this kind of living.

This bathroom has a cappuccino machine in it!

Bedrooms

I thought this was a cool space room. I’m sure Davis will always want his room to be the same theme so it was nice to see it more for teens.

I thought this paint was darling for a girls room.

You know I couldn’t help myself! I had to play dress up and take advantage of this little girls room. {{amazing}}

Budding Entrepreneurs

Every summer Davis has a lemonade stand. They sell Minute Maid soda’s and bottled water. Yes, it’s a proud moment for me as a mama as I see little budding entrepreneurs in action.

If it’s a slow day, they’ll put their cooler in a wagon and sell door to door. No, I’m not kidding. They can get a bit inpatient.

However, today was a busy day as they sold out their inventory and made $10.50 (including tips)!

Dylan put his portion into his treasure chest and now can’t find the key. I guess that’s one way to save your money. {{bwaaah!}}
