Poison Control?

I got a package the other day that I need to return, so I left it next to my front door. I was walking towards the study and this is what I see. Yes my Drake who will not eat FOOD was eating a Styrofoam box.

And quite enjoying it might I add. I panicked but quickly realized that he wasn’t eating it, he was chewing bits off and spitting them out. Of course, he’s had lots of practice with that. 😉

This is the face I got when I took the box away and vacuumed up all the cute little balls of Styrofoam he was playing with.

Grandparent Post

Drake’s still not eating nor napping. I’m seriously frustrated with him. So I decided to make a Grandparent Post and focus on the positive. Drake just started praying! It’s so adorable. He just did it on his own one evening and we were so surprised. He’ll usually do it after we’ve blessed the food. It’s such a treat.

I’ve got to get him off the bottle. Seriously. I just don’t have the energy right now. We’ll tackle it after school starts. Here, I ran out of the 8 oz bottles and only had 2 four ounce ones left. He rotated them. Darling.

Drake won’t eat crackers, cereal, fruit, fruit snacks, etc. But the boy loves Cheetos! I was upstairs cleaning and asked Davis if he would put Drake in his high chair and give him a snack. This is what I came downstairs to find. I love this picture. He’s so happy in it!

Bonding Time

I can tell what I do all the time by what my baby likes to do. Does that happen in your house? Since I’ve been blogging and the boys are addicted to Webkinz, Drake spends a lot of his time trying to climb the chair in the study to get to our computers. Here Lisa gave in and let him “type” on her laptop. Can you see the pure joy exuding from his body!

Drake and Lisa have totally bonded. She gets annoyed that Drake takes so long to warm up to her when she comes to visit. Well, she finally got her wish and Drake was her shadow the last several hours of her visit. Mission accomplished, they’ve bonded.

The weekend in Lake Jackson

I’m still in Lake Jackson. The funeral was absolutely beautiful. We got there early and greeted everyone we needed to. There were so many wonderful memories and stories shared. Jason’s Uncle has 2 daughters, both in their 20’s but not married. The oldest is my height and you could tell she was the one in charge of the funeral. The other daughter was tall with Lisa’s build (my sister). I couldn’t help but think of Lisa and me at our parents funeral. Later I got to thinking about all the logistics of having a funeral. When I get home, I’m going to e-mail my parents and find out what their wishes are for their funerals. At this point I wouldn’t really have an idea of who they would want to speak or even where they want to be buried.

I have decided who I want to have speak at my funeral and that I want pink flower clips handed to every woman that attends. (ha ha) I know, so fun. I think the import aspect of a funeral is having the person’s personality reflected. Jason was cracking me up when we were talking about it. He said that he’ll be sure to have a complete agenda fully outlined and laminated for my funeral ceremonies. Ahh, He knows me so well. ;-}

My MIL lives on the San Bernard river. With all the rain her dock is completely under water.

This is her backyard which backs up to the river. We made sure we put the SeaDoos in the water a couple times while we were here.

Here’s Dylan and the cousins standing on the dock waiting for their turn on the SeaDoos. Drake cried the majority of the 6 hour drive and has been pretty grumpy. This third kiddo has really worn me out. I don’t seem to have the energy and drive that I once had. We’ll be home late Sunday night.

Grandparent Post

We finally enjoyed 6 consecutive days of sunshine. Yeah! We spent almost every day at the pool, friends pool, or spray park. I’m calling this a Grandparent post because it just about the kiddos.

So what do you get when you combine mint dental floss and a binki? Drake found out, a minty binki!

Dylan’s such a cheese when it comes to the camera. He took a break from Webkins to make a silly face.

Davis designed his best K-nex yet. It’s a helicopter with a motorized propeller and landing gear. I swear that boy is gifted.

Guess who had to move the storage place for the pens? Yep, me. I can no longer keep all my pens in a convenient place in the study drawer. Drake can now open the drawer and take off the caps. He drew all over himself. Luckily not on my carpet.

As for me I’ve been reading this book on Michelangelo. It’s not a thrilling read (per se) but for some crazy reason I can’t put it down. I’m completely intrigued by his life. The boy had some seriously bad luck. Poor Guy. I’m really looking forward to this week. 3 of my friends come back from their month long vacations/family visit. Yeah! And because I’ve been a little down, I planned a brunch/play date on Wednesday with some of my other friends and their kids. It should be a better week.

We’re All Tied Up at the Moment

My kids are addicted to string! A ball of yarn equal hours of play here at the Turk house. They’ve just added a new element to the string games, it’s call the “Yank and Laugh!” Tie yarn to Drake’s binkie and as you can imagine the tricks were endless. I will say Drake was a trooper, he loved it!

Fun with the string usually ends with my upstairs turned into one big spider web. Their favorite thing to do is to tie toys onto it and dangle it from the banister.

Dylan’s new thing is giving Drake piggie-back rides. It’s so cute!!

Here’s Davis with is latest K-nex design, a race car with a working motor! He was so proud and he asked me to take his picture. He then told me that I can put it on my site so my friends can see it. (Too funny!!)

Christmas in July

Instead of taking the boys to a museum or the movies and spending tons of cash on a one time experience, I decided the money would be better spent on some new toys they’ll enjoy daily. Well, our shopping trip to Toys R Us was a success and well deserved after the 4 hours of running errands. (Thank goodness I had my sister with me, or I would not have made it in a happy mood.)

Drake is almost 16 months old and still does NOT wake up happy. I’ll admit, it’s pretty much driving me to a nervous break down starting my morning with him screaming every day! Since I’m pretty much desperate at this point, I bought a bunch of toys for Drake’s crib. I’m hoping this ends my misery. I’m also planning on putting him in there a couple times during the day just to play. What do you think? Have any of you had this problem?

D1 and D2 decided they wanted Ben10 toys. Which I was so excited about because that will complete our “set”. You guys don’t know this about me yet, but I’m a toy fanatic! I love buying toys. With the first two boys I would sit for hours and play with them. It was really helpful for Davis because I would teach him how to play with a friend and his brother while we were playing. (Poor lil‘ Drake will not have that pleasure. 🙂 I’ve finally grown out of my playing with toys stage but thankfully he has his brothers.)

What started out as a $10 each trip ended up to be more because they bought what I wanted them too. Do you do that? Anyway, I love to buy toys in sets. It makes storing, cleaning, and purchasing so much easier. This way there’s a bin for every “set” and we don’t have any stragglers or misc. toy bin. I LOVE it! That’s one thing I get from my mom. She did that but she did it in every aspect of her life. Anyway, moving on.

Indoor Put Put Golf Course

When the boys are alone upstairs for any period of time, their creativity gets the better of them and you never know what you’re going to encounter.

Sunday, Davis & Dylan outdid themselves and designed our very own indoor put put golf course, complete with numbered animals. How else would we know what order to go in? :-}

First you start by putting the ball through the root beer box (1st pic) and then through this maze of blocks.

Once you reach the end of the hallway, there’s a tricky maze of bins.

Next, you put the ball into the Build-a-bear dog house. (They made a paper front with a hole in it. So great!)

Take a quick break and pose for the camera, well at least Lisa did. 🙂

For the final hole, you must hit the mall between the bins, up the ramp, into the Zoob box. It’s tricky but it’s possible! Thanks Davis and Dylan – we had a blast!

Happy 4th of July

Made a yummy cake recommended by a fellow blogger.

Had lunch at the Walls house and then went to see the Rat movie. I was in the foyer the entire time following Drake around.

Had fun with fireworks at the Walls’ parents house.

The fireworks FREAKED Drake and Tyson out! Thank goodness they got used to it after the first dozen or so.

Me and Drake playing in the yard.

Jason, Me, Brian, and Lisa hanging out all ready for the fireworks show. We were so close to the fireworks it was amazing! They really know how to put on a fireworks show in Bedford! WOW! We had the best time.

On the way home a lady was driving crazy and was laying on her horn driving down the main road where the entire town was walking back to their cars. Davis, curious as to what the noise was, walked into the street and nearly got ran over by this lunatic! I swear that boy has an army of angels watching over him. Thank heaven she didn’t hit him!!

These are the kids the next morning. I’m crazy to have planned a play date! (We got home at midnight and Drake was bright eyed at 6:30 am!)

This was me the next day, exhausted!!
